I'm used to exporting my bookmarks, cookies and any other configuration files to an external folder, uninstalling then reinstalling the application from square one. I have checked the doc's and it appears there is an uninstalling caveat, that lists this behavior; but I didn't think to check for it initially, because lack of a complete uninstall was unexpected behavior for me.
What I would like to see in the future is an option for a complete uninstall from the installer itself. I can certainly understand why some people would like to keep these folders. My problem was that I was experiencing a corruption in one or more of the files contained there that prevented me from removing the download history from the downloads window.
It just got so full that I couldn't stand to look at it anymore and was hoping that a reinstall would resolve the issue. It ultimately did, once I figured out about deleting the profile folders. I received the following error: "Error - The plugin has not loaded. I've viewed both of these files in WordPad and viewed the pref. I did check in Minefield to make sure that the plugin is enabled. Thanks for your responses, John.
Posted Oct Fri 5th pm Well there are no 'official' 64bit Minefield builds, so the only thing I can think of is your using a 3rd party build, and perhaps its the cause of things not working for you.
Cpuroast Posts: 44 Joined: Oct Tue 5th am. Posted Oct Fri 5th pm Hi, I presume the fact that your 64bit 3rd party build of Firefox cannot use 32bit plugins, as in the official 32bit WMP plugin from MS, 32bit flash plugin, etc etc is the cause of your problem.
It's the nature of the beast. They require 64bit versions. Same reason the 64bit OS requires 64bit drivers. And that 32bit Shell extensions don't work on the 64bit version of Windows Explorer.
I run XP x64 on both my work machine C2D and home machine A64 and I use 32bit Firefox only, because at this point in time, lets just say that 64bit plugins are very scarce, probably due to the fact that Mozilla does not have an official 64bit version of their browser. It's the same with IE7 64bit, 64bit activeX controls are quite scarce as well, even Windows Update doesn't support the 64bit version of IE.
MS has gone a long way to isolate 64bit and 32bit applications in Windows x64, for files, dlls, registry keys, etc. There is a reason for it. Anyways, thought I'd let you know. This is making a lot of sense now, because at this point I know I've done everything right. I guess I'll just have to wait for the 64 bit WMP11 plugin to be released. My next project is to learn how to edit. In other words the user needs to make sure that the related components that are required to play blu ray DVD are installed onto the hard drive so that the user can play the format with ease and satisfaction.
To get the best results it is also to be noted that the user should read this tutorial till the end to get more ideas. The interoperatibility page is to be accessed as it is the official recommendation of Mozilla and the Download now button is to be pressed.
The file should be saved to the desktop and should be double clicked to install the plug-in. Once it has been done the Firefox should be closed completely:. On the next page the user should search for plugins. The browser is to be restarted to make sure that the plug-in installed has been enabled and this also completes the process in full. This plug-in has been the best user choice and when it comes to Chrome then backed by the power of Google this browser is also used to make sure that the user gets the best viewing experience and when embedded with this plug-in then the browser becomes even powerful.
This part of the tutorial will make sure that how a user can download this stunning plug-in for the Chrome to get the best results. It is also to be noted that the chrome does not have any specific plug-in for the WMP and therefore as an alternative Video stream for Google Chromecast will be used.
As a last step first search result i. The add to chrome button is to be hit to complete the process:. It is one of the best plug-in which makes sure that the computer goes to sleep instantly as the playlist is concluded.
It is also the best plug-in ensuring that the user never faces power issues with the battery as it also recycles and refines the power management system. Chris Morgan is right. You'll only have that plugin if the MediaPlayer is installed on the local computer.
Something similar has happened to Flash Player and Shockwave. As far as I know it has always been impossible to install Shockwave portably and now I can't install Flash Player portable either. It is complaining about a missing install script. And there are more useful plugins you can't install in a portable environment. It looks like as if portable versions of Firefox are declared non-existant by all major vendors.
For your problem there is a however a sub-optimal solution. If you install the Mediaconnectivity add-on, you don't need that Media Player plugin. This has some drawbacks that are really annoying: 1 The add-on isn't updated for a very long time, so you need to force-install it otherwise it is rejected as being old-fashioned.
