I haven't used the video recording capability for a number of years now so I can't vouch that it still works, although Big Sur did install an audio module during installation.
I had a paid for version, wonder what became of the company I have been using this in Mojave for a long time. Works perfectly there. I suspect it may not work in Catalina or Big Sur.

I never did much for screen recording: use Snapz for capturing parts of my screen, sometimes with a fixed aspect ratio. Neither Boom 3D nor iShowU seem appropriate for me.
